Velma Lucille Bullerdick, 97, of rural Crawfordsville, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
She was born in Parke County on April 5, 1927, to Clyde & Mary Elizabeth Paddock Poole, on the farm which is now a part of the historic Shades State Park. When she was only 7 her mother passed away and she and her siblings lived at the Rockville Sanitorium for a time due to possible tuberculosis.
She married Walter Dale Bullerdick on May 9, 1946. Together they enjoyed working on their farm and raising their family. He passed away on May 1, 1992. Velma was a member of the Byron Christian Church and in recent years attended Whitesville Christian Church. She was also active in Home Economics Club for many years. She was a loving mother and grandmother who never missed a milestone or an event and enjoyed all of her family.
Velma is survived by her children Larry (Peggy) Bullerdick and Janie (Dave) Williamson. She has 4 grandchildren, Sandi Sarjent, Jim Bullerdick, Ryan Williamson, and Lee Williamson;
11 Great Grandchildren Lyndsey Fultz, Nathan Collins, Abigail Heide, Jordyn Bullerdick, Kendyll Bullerdick, Brendan Williamson, Elliott Williamson, Parker Williamson, Finn Williamson, Bennie Williamson, and Rivers Williamson. Velma was blessed to enjoy five  generations with  Reese Fultz, Brady Frultz, and Hadley Collins.
She is also survived by her sisters Joann Troxel, Marilyn Thomas, and Carolyn Jeffers as well as 6 brothers and sisters from a second marriage. She was preceded in death by her siblings Leighton Poole, Donald Poole, and Ruth Stonebraker.
Funeral services will be held on 2:00pm Saturday, September 7, at Whitesville Christian Church with Pastor Mike Whitacre and David Bowers officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery South.
