Velma Jean Roberts, 87, of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday surrounded by her family.

She was a 1948 graduate of New Market High School. Velma had worked at RR Donnelly as a secretary, Southmont as a health aid and was the owner of Roberts Bridal Veil for many years.  Velma was a member of Rock Point Church, Double Duzzen Home Ec Club, Primetimers of Rock Point, and a former member of New Market Baptist Church.

She was a beloved wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.  She was married to John Kenyon (Ken) Roberts for 67 years, he survives.  Also surviving are her children Janet (Bruce) Jones, John (Cindy) Roberts II, Jill (Paul) Mishler, and Joe (Angela) Roberts; grandchildren Julie (Dan) Hendricks, Rob (Jessica) Jones, Clay (Brook) Jones, Megan (Jeremy) Shaw, Haley Beach, Brooke Taylor, Brandi (Zach) White, Kendi Sanabria, Ethan Roberts, and Allison Roberts. She had 18 Great grandchildren.  Velma was preceded in death by her son James Roberts in 1980 as well as a brother Donald Demoret and sister Norma Demoret.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Thompson officiating.  Interment will be in the New Ross Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12-2pm Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rock Point Church or charity of donor's choosing.
