Vickie Diane (Brock) Tirtel of Hammond passed away Friday. She was 53 years old.

Vickie was self-employed in a home cleaning business and attended South Montgomery Schools.

Born June 22, 1958, at Crawfordsville, she was the a daughter of Earl L. Brock and Dorothy E. (Wilson) Brock.

She loved bird watching, flower gardening, fishing, shopping and her dogs, Byrdie and Bailey.

Vickie was a Christian and she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will truly be missed by all.

She married Steven G. Tirtel on Dec. 8, 1975. He survives. Also surviving are her son, Steven B. Tirtel; a daughter, Tara N. Tirtel; a grandchild, Charleigh Grace Tokarz, all of Hammond; her father, Earl L. Brock of Crawfordsville; four brothers, Dennis (Sandi) R. Brock, David A. Brock, Randy G. Brock, all of Crawfordsville, Paul D. (Evelyn) Brock of Ellettsville; a sister, Sherry D. (Eric) Conkright of Crawfordsville; three sisters-in-law, Glenda (Carlos) Barnes, Fran Burkett, both of Michigan City, and Kate Brock of Elgin, S.C.; ans several nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.

Her mother, Dorothy, and a brother, Roger L. Brock of Elgin, S.C., preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Goff officiating. Friends may call noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
