Obituary
Virgie L. Owens, 78, Deer Park, Texas, and formerly of Linden and Romney, died 8:40 a.m. Friday at San Jacinto Manor, Deer Park.
Mrs. Owens was a homemaker.
She was born Feb. 6, 1928, at Columbia, Ky., to Forney and Mae Price. She married Elvis R. Owens. He died Sept. 4, 2004.
Survivors include seven sons, David and Jim, both of Lafayette, Elvis R. Jr., Gainesville, Fla., Dale, Dayton, Texas, Travis, West Point, Ind., Billy, Linden, and Jerry, Deer Park; three daughters, Ann Johnson, Linden, Margie Engle, Lafayette, and Connie Biddle, Fort Smith, Ark.; 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A grandson, Michael R. Owens, is deceased.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Romney. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
