William L. "Bill" Broshears, 87, Crawfordsville,
passed away Friday afternoon at Ben Hur Nursing
Home.
He was born May 13, 1925, in Sullivan, to
William Lee Sr. and Annie Houston Broshears.
He attended school at Sullivan and graduated
from Indiana University. He was
a World War II veteran having
served in the US Army Air Corp.
He worked in accounting for
Crawford Industries, Plastene and the state of
Indiana.
His memberships included the Elks, where he
had served as a secretary, V.F.W., American Legion
#72, First United Methodist Church, where
he had served as treasurer and Crawfordsville
Country Club.
He married Patty Davis on June 10, 1951, at
Lafayette. She survives. Additional survivors include:
son Dave (Cindy) Broshears of Trafalgar;
daughter, Betsy Swisher of Tampa, Fla.; and
brother George (Joyce) Broshears of Alexandria.
In addition, three grandchildren, Chris (Danielle)
Broshears, Addie (Jimmy) Angelov and
Ryan Ann (Sam) Hoagland; and five greatgrandchildren,
Kaylee, Karley, Anderson, Emerson
and Alex also survive.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with
Pastor Gary Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at
Oak Hill Cemetery North with burial rites by the
VFW and American Legion. Friends may call
10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral
home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United
Methodist Church for the organ restoration fund or
to the Elks, B.P.O.E #483.
