William 'Bill' Edward Peterman, 89, of Crawfordsville died at 10:20 a.m. Friday at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.

Mr. Peterman retired after 40 years from RR Donnelley. He loved to travel and eat out. He most loved being with his family. We were blessed to have him as a dad and grandpa.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a baker. He was educated in Indianapolis schools. He was born Feb. 8, 1925, at Indianapolis, to William J. and Stella (Howe) Peterman. He married Betty Jo Anglin in May 1946. She died in 2007.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda Joyce (Larry) Gayler of Terre Haute and Kathy (John) Barnes of Crawfordsville; sisters, Carolyn Lichtenwalter of Crawfordsville and Marilyn Sherrill of Clinton; grandchildren, Krissondara Todd of Veedersburg, Brent (Lisa) Melvin of Crawfordsville, Shaun (Jessica) Barnes, Crawfordsville, and John W. "Billy" Barnes of Crawfordsville; greatgrandchildren, Miranda, Bentley, Dakoda, Bailly and Reagan Barnes, all of Crawfordsville; Ashley (Damon) Allen, Anthony Todd and Alex Todd of Terre Haute; Nathan and Brandon Calhoun of Terre Haute; Loren Melvin of Crawfordsville; and Faith (Dustin) Abels of Kokomo; and great-great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Miller and Hunter Allen of Terre Haute; Kiley Carey and Mason Abels of Kokomo; and Addasyn Barnes of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty; parents; grandson Ashton Barnes; brothers John, Jim, Terry, Tom, Bobby and Melvin; sisters, Dorothy, Helen, Mary Louise, Sue Hartle, Kate Whalden and Betty Volk.

A graveside service with military rites will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at Oak Hill Cemetery North, with Pastor Joseph Lee officiating
