William Roy White, known to friends and family as Bill, passed away at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis on June 8, 2017.  He was born on August 10, 1939 in Harvey, Illinois to Thelma Krantz White and Leslie R. White.  He married Sharon Galiene on August 23, 1960.

Bill was a graduate of Evansville University and served in the United States Army.  He spent his entire career in the corrugated packaging industry.  After college, he began as a manager trainee at  Inland Container in Chicago, Illinois.  Mr. White was instrumental in bringing Inland Container to Crawfordsville, Indiana.  He was the first General Manager for the Crawfordsville Plant.   He later served as Vice President of the Midwestern District for Temple Inland. He received many leadership awards for productivity, safety, and customer service.

As a native of the Chicago area, Bill was an avid Cubs fan.  He could often be found enjoying the day on the golf course.  He formed life-long friendships which he maintained throughout his life as advancements in his career took him back to Chicago, and then to Little Rock, Arkansas.  His happiest times were spent with his wife of fifty-six years, and he was always quick to share a story about their daughter and three grandsons with a smile and obvious pride.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, daughter Suzanne Marie Branton of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandsons Aidan, Seth, and Julian Branton; also surviving are his sister Jeannette White of Peotone, Illinois, brother Jack White of Sun City, Florida, and eight nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home from 2 – 4 on Sunday, June 11, 2017.  Funeral services will follow at 4:00.  Interment will be at Ascension Garden Mausoleum in Chicago, Illinois after a graveside service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at Memphis, TN.
